The research project takes into account the entire life cycle of a building as well as profitability and user acceptance.

The main lines of research are:

• Electrochromic windows, which allow control over the amount of light and heat that passes through them, resulting in energy resource and cash savings on heating and artificial lighting.
• Walls with photocatalytic materials for cleansing the air; insulation utilising nanopores and PCMs.
• Monitoring and control of air conditioning and ventilation systems.
